Meet Dr. Michael Lynn, your Concord endodontist

Dr. Michael Lynn is the endodontist behind Dogwood Endodontics in Concord, North Carolina. Originally from Winston-Salem, his journey into dentistry began with an unexpected childhood moment: losing his first tooth while practicing hockey slap shots against a wall. Hockey and dentistry may seem like opposites, but together they reflect the balance of precision, focus, and personality that shape both his life and his approach to patient care.

Dr. Lynn earned his BS in Public Health from East Carolina University before completing an MS in Biomedical Sciences at Mississippi College. He then went on to receive his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and later completed his Endodontic Certificate and MSD at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a member of the ADA and AAE, board eligible, and actively involved with the Greater Charlotte Study Club. After spending time in corporate dentistry, Dr. Lynn knew he wanted to create something more personal: a practice where patients feel genuinely cared for, communication is prioritized, and the team is empowered to provide an elevated experience from start to finish.

At Dogwood Endodontics, the entire patient experience is centered around white glove service. The team understands that many patients arrive feeling anxious, uncomfortable, or already in pain, and their goal is to ease that stress from the moment someone walks through the door. Inside the office, patients will find small comforts that make a meaningful difference, including neck pillows, headphones, an elevated coffee bar, and a beverage cooler stocked with water and sparkling drinks like Poppi. New patient forms are fully digital and paperless, helping streamline the experience when patients may already be overwhelmed. Every aspect of the office layout and workflow was intentionally designed to feel calm, efficient, and welcoming.

Root canals, retreatments, apicoectomies, and internal bleaching

Dogwood Endodontics focuses exclusively on saving natural teeth through advanced endodontic care. Services include root canal treatment for anterior and posterior teeth, root canal retreatment, apicoectomies (also known as endodontic microsurgery or root end surgery), and internal bleaching for teeth that have darkened following trauma or treatment. The office utilizes advanced technology, including a limited field-of-view CBCT scanner accurate up to 75 microns and endodontic microscopes that allow for a higher level of precision during treatment.

One of the most rewarding parts of Dr. Lynn’s work is hearing patients say their experience was far easier and more comfortable than they expected. Many people come into the office fearing root canal treatment, but specialized endodontic numbing techniques allow patients to become exceptionally comfortable during procedures. In many cases, patients even fall asleep during treatment. Typical consultations take about 10 minutes, while most procedures can be completed in around 45 minutes. Dr. Lynn is also passionate about saving teeth that other providers may have recommended extracting, believing that preserving the natural tooth is often the best long-term solution whenever possible.
